Manchester City to consider selling Carlos Tevez for £25m plus add-ons in January - report

Manager Roberto Mancini has previously stated that the Argentine forward will not feature in his team while he is still boss at the Etihad, following the incident in Munich

The Argentine striker has been frozen out of the squad after falling out with manager Roberto Mancini following an incident during the Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

Manchester City are reportedly preparing to sell Carlos Tevez in January if a bid of about £25 million plus add-ons is received in January.

The 27-year-old is thought to have refused to warm up when asked to do so, behaviour which saw him initially fined four weeks' wages by the club. This punishment has since been halved after Tevez received backing from the PFA, the players' union.

There have also been reports concerning a potential return to the City first-team for the former Manchester United man, in order to ensure that he does not make use of a Fifa loophole and annul his current contract with the Premier League leaders.

Now The Sunday Telegraph reports that City are preparing to consider bids in the region of £25m plus add-ons and sell the striker in January, to avoid any potential complications.

City boss Roberto Mancini had made it clear that if he had his way, Tevez would not feature in the first-team again as long as he remained the manager of the club.
